Sectional gutters, the kind sold in pre-cut lengths at hardware stores, have joints every few feet where sections overlap and are sealed together. Those seams are where gutters fail. The sealant deteriorates, the joint shifts with temperature cycling, and the overlap point starts to leak. On a home more than a few years old with sectional gutters, failing seams are almost inevitable.
Seamless gutters are formed from a continuous coil of material on-site, cut to the exact length of each run. There are no seam joints along the length of the gutter, only at the corners and at the downspout connections. The result is a cleaner installation that lasts longer and needs less maintenance than sectional gutters.

We install seamless gutters from aluminum coil stock on-site. Aluminum is the standard material for residential gutter installation in this market. It doesn’t rust, it holds paint well, and it comes in a range of colors that can be matched or coordinated with your home’s trim.

Sized for Your Roof, Pitched to Drain.
Gutters that are too small for the roof area they drain overflow during heavy rain even when they’re clean. The standard 5-inch K-style gutter handles most homes, but a home with steep roof pitches, large roof areas, or several drainage planes feeding into a single run often needs 6-inch gutters to handle peak flow.
Pitch matters too. Gutters need a slight slope toward the downspout to drain fully after rain. A level gutter holds standing water, which speeds up rusting in older metal gutters, supports organic growth, and adds weight over time. We install gutters with the correct pitch for full drainage.
The Right Size
The standard 5-inch K-style gutter covers most homes. Larger roof areas, steep pitches, or multiple planes draining into one run often call for 6-inch gutters to handle peak flow.

Gutter guards are covers or inserts that fit over the gutter opening to reduce the amount of debris that gets into the trough. They cut down how often you need to clean on homes in heavily wooded areas, which describes a lot of Chicago-area properties.
