Roofline and gutters on a home in the Chicago suburbs
RX ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION · CHICAGO & SURROUNDING SUBURBS

Holiday Lighting Installation, Without the Ladder Work.

We take the setup, the takedown, and the ladder work off your list entirely. You get the lights exactly where you want them, properly secured and safely installed, without spending your weekend on a ladder in November.

01 / Holiday Lighting

A Natural Extension of the Work We Do Year-Round.

RX Roofing & Construction installs holiday and Christmas lighting on homes throughout the Chicago area. Our crews are comfortable working at height, on rooflines, and in the conditions that come with a Midwest fall and early winter.

When the season is over, we come back and take everything down and store it. The setup, the takedown, and the ladder work all stay off your list, so you get the look you want without the weekend spent climbing around in the cold.

02 / What We Install

Lighting for Rooflines, Trees, and Walkways.

From the rooflines down to the trees and walkways, we cover the parts of the display that make a home look finished for the season.

Roofline Lighting

Lights along the gutters, eaves, and ridge lines are the most impactful element of a holiday exterior. We install them properly secured to the gutter or drip edge, positioned evenly, and connected to accessible power without exposed cords running down the exterior wall.

Landscape and Tree Lighting

Wrapping trees, outlining walkways, and adding lighting to ornamental plantings creates depth and character in a holiday display that roofline lights alone don’t achieve.

Architectural Outlining

For homes with prominent features like gables, dormers, columns, or porches, outlining those elements with lighting adds visual interest and definition to the display.

Custom Displays

If you want something specific rather than a standard installation, we work from your vision and translate it into a safe, well-executed display built around your home.

03 / Professional Installation vs. DIY

Keep the Ladder Risk Off Your Shoulders.

DIY holiday lighting on homes of any size involves real risk. Ladder work on icy or wet surfaces in November and December, working near gutters and on rooflines without the right equipment, and improvised electrical connections are behind a large number of home injury incidents every year.

Our crews are trained for working at height, they have the right equipment for the job, and they know how to install lighting that draws a consistent load without overloading circuits. The result also looks better. Evenly spaced lights, clean wiring, and properly anchored fixtures give a professional installation a consistency that extension-ladder jobs rarely match.

04 / Takedown and Storage

We Come Back and Handle the Takedown, Too.

At the end of the season we come back to remove the installation. Lights are taken down carefully, coiled, and stored for the following year if you’re providing your own, or returned if the lights were part of our supply.

The exterior goes back to normal, and you don’t have to find a time to get back on the ladder in January. It’s the same hands-off setup at the end of the season as it was at the start.

05 / Scheduling

Book Early for the Best Availability.

October and Early November

Holiday lighting installations in the Chicago area fill up quickly in October and early November. Getting on the schedule before the end of October gives you the best chance at your preferred installation window before the first freeze.

November and Early December

We accommodate requests in November and early December when the schedule allows, but early booking is the safer call. The sooner you reach out, the more options you have for timing.

06 / Part of the Work We Do

One Local Team for the Roofline Year-Round.

Holiday lighting is a seasonal addition to the exterior work we do year-round. Homeowners we work with for roofing, siding, and gutters know our crews and trust us on their property, and adding holiday lighting to that relationship is a natural fit.

If you have any exterior work coming up alongside the holiday season, like a late-season gutter cleaning or a roofline check before winter, we can often coordinate both in a single visit.
